Have a chasuna in toronto sep. 15-need a flight
« on: July 19, 2011, 11:23:55 PM »
whats the cheapest way (besides a car) to get to toronto on sep. 15. I assume ill leave the 14th and come back the 16th. Any suggestions on finding a cheap flight? or maybe opening up a credit card that will get me a nice amount of points.?
Is there any worth in driving to Buffalo and then rent a car?

There's pretty good availability on points from COD.

since you don't say where you're leaving from, you must be a new yorker who doesn't realize people live anywhere else (JK), so that's probably where you're looking to leave from. also, the last line i assume you meant fly to BUF and drive from there.

get the chase sapphire with 50000 points and transfer to continental who is a partner with Air Canada.  and if you are buying a ticket try spirit from atlantic city or Lan.  Can't imagine it would be worth it to fly to Buffalo and renta car.

it sometimes can be worthwhile with paid tickets (jetblue?) especially if you'll need a car anyway

LAN is a South American airline with great award values (when redeeming with their frequent flyer program) for short hops like NYC-Toronto. Ignore COD, it was a cynical joke.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred is $95 a year, but the first year is free.
