It is now: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2017/08/22/redeem-qantas-points-el-al/

How many points NYC-TLV r/t? And same QY as LY or different when using QF points?

ETA, I now read that post and see that you can only redeem TLV to certain regions (Europe/Asia), North America isn't included.

Meh...
"However, unfortunately you can only redeem Qantas points for travel on EL AL to certain regions, including Asia and Europe. You can’t redeem Qantas points for travel on EL AL between North America and Israel."
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

2 of the 3 destinations announced for the 787 will be HKG and LHR, both better redemption rates through QF.

Not sure I would call this amazing but it can be useful if ELAL are the only ones available. Still nowhere near the American/Elal partnership.

A pretty good option for trying out the new product using the LHR redemption:

"Tel Aviv to London — 20,000 miles economy, 38,000 miles business, 56,000 miles first"

Spend a few days in the UK and find a nice J product to get back to NY. Where are the adventurous folk here/

38k Citi points doesn't sound too bad for J on the 787, with access to king David lounge in TLV.
