Me too. The problem is, even if I pay, what happens with all the people I use it to chat with who decide that THEY don't wanna pay?

On the iPhone there is no free one year trial, just a one time $1 fee. So if anyone with an iPhone is on there, they are keeping the app.

Anyways, if you ask me, the messaging app wars are over, and whatsapp has already claimed victory. And this is coming from a full time kik user.

Tip about WhatsApp: You do not need to have cellular service on the device you wish to use (at least not on Android), just sign up witha different number. That number will then get a text with a code. Whats App will display a message that it cant verify, so you can click Call Me, then just enter the code that you got , and you will be registered on WhatsApp with the phone number you used.
(btw this is my 25th post: Elite Status here i come!)
Does this apply to tablets?

Worth every one of those ninety nine pennies IMO. It is a really good universal messaging app.
1000 I can't understand why people won't think that much before moving a $4 chocolate in their shopping cart like they think before paying 0.99 for a app they use several hours a day

-1000 and this is why

I don't like it. It's extremely ugly, doesn't use "read" receipts, and shows when you are/were online without a feature to turn it off on android. It's not extremely reliable, it's slow, and it's not well designed.

Though they did make it nicer in their last update.

I am reading thru this thread and I really can't understand how people are being so pathetic and complaining about paying $.99

Great Mashal with the chocolate.

I agree this app is somewhat buggy, on my previous BB, it drained the battery, and I stopped using it after a few days.

Now on BB 9930 its great. I chat with people all over the world, I have a few chat groups... I use this app a lot daily.

I used to not like paying for apps, but really what's the big deal about paying typically $1-3 on an app that will be used, and convenient for yourself. You'll buy a sod from a soda machine for $1.5 - when of you could've bought it for $.50 if you bought a case and schlepped one along with you...

I'm also wondering about switching phones.

With BB if you are switching between phones, you could used the device switch program that will move over all your info. I am pretty sure that the what'sapp info has also moved.

My Q' is anyone that switched to the BB10 - (from a BB) where they able to move over their whatsapp chats?
