I had a second line at one point and opened a whatsapp account. I no longer have the number. How do I make sure not to lose th whatsapp account?
If I sign out is there anyway to get back in without having access to that number, such as 2 step verification etc.?
Firstly add a pin so that if someone else gets the number, they can't make a WhatsApp account without that number.
Second, adding an email address to your WhatsApp account might help

Isn't there an option to change numbers? I feel like it's kind of risky. If current phone breaks or gets lost then you're out afaik. Obviously this might defeat the purpose of having a specific number. But to keep access to the account id get a new number

Do you mean to set up 2 step?

When I tried that it said to try again in a couple of hours.

Using WA on iPhone. Setting>Chats>Chat Backup shows it being backuped to iCloud, but Setting>iCloud>iCloud also shows it being backuped. Is WA being backed up twice? Do I need that? Getting close to my iCloud storage max and prefer not to jump to next tier. Thanks.
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.
