(False Rumor) Whatsapp to start charging
« Reply #42 on: January 16, 2012, 10:12:19 PM »
WhatsApp is going to cost us money soon. The only way that it will stay free is if you are a frequent user i.e. you have at least 10 people you are  chatting with. To become a frequent user send this message to 10 people who receive it (2 ticks) and your WhatsApp logo should turn Red to indicate a frequent user.

It's a hoax! (as is another email about it shutting down if you don't forward the message on...)

They are updating the app (for some undisclosed reason, not security related) and say that it should be back on the app store soon.
With the iMessages app I am not surprised that apple is in no rush to get Whatsapp back.  They want ppl to just use their own app.

but iMessage is only between iPhones, unlike Whatsapp where its between all smartphones. So i don't see why apple would have much of a problem with it.

Yes I also got tons of messages from people about it, heard it's a scan to, what people don't know is that it anyway costs money after one year it's like 1.99 annually,
And btw I think on the iPhone they charge for the app itself unlike Android and blackberry.

I can't believe the masses still fall for these stupid memes ::)
And why is it that the people who fall for these things are the same ones who don't delete the emails of all the people it was sent to/from higher up the chain :)
(well, I guess the "from" ones are not so bad, if you fwd this crap you deserve it, but why does everyone in your address book need to have their address sent to hundreds of people?)
