Is there an easy way to search for something specific within a given Whatsapp group? I can't seem to figure it out.

If you click the menu button, there is a search option. (Unless I misunderstood your question...)

Media, I can click into the group and see all media files. It is messages I am looking for. Some from a specific user and some for which I just remember a certain key-word.

What about emailing chat history to yourself, then you can search the keyword and gmail will search in the file as well.

Got the latest update for iOS that has the calling feature but I don't see any calling option. Do I need to get a call from some one to get it activated?

From the article
" Unfortunately, The WhatsApp Calling feature is rolling out slowly so you may not see it right away. The new calling feature should be available for every iOS user within the next few weeks. "

On android I needed to receive a call

I would assume that if I got the update and able to receive a call that the feature was rolled out to me. But still don't see any option to make a call.

There were times on Android where receiving a call didn't allow you to place them yet...

I think the latest update to both IOS and Android devices just happened. FWIW, if you try calling someone and they don't answer, a message shows a missed call. Very helpful. I am a staunch whatsapp supporter.

For anyone who got rid of WhatsApp due to filtering (you were able to access twitter from WhatsApp) the newest version has cleared that issue.

Android Police did it.
NOTE: the feature was removed in 2.12.47

On iPhone they got the calling a bit late, but at least had a option to back up for already a long time.

Last night, my entire chat history was suddenly deleted. I opened whatsapp to read a message, and it was the only message there.

Now, I'm trying to restore it using backups as instructed on the whatsapp site, but all the backups are just the messages from this morning. Any way to get them back?
