WhatsApp is stopping support for all Symbian, Nokia S40, BlackBerry phones. Phones running older versions of Windows, Android and iOS operating systems will also not be supported.

Android users still on Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 are no longer be able to use WhatsApp.

Windows phone users will have to upgrade beyond Windows Phone 7.1 to continue enjoying services. iOS 6 are not be supported, which  affects those Apple users who are holding back from updating the OS.

UPDATE: You won't be able to use WhatsApp on the following platforms for:

Nokia Symbian S60 after June 30, 2017

Nokia S40 after December 31, 2018
Android versions 2.3.7 and older after February 1, 2020

My friend got a new cell number and instead of changing his number in whatsapp he made a new account with his new number. Now he wants to get into his old account to either delete it or change it to his new number but he doesn't have his old number any more to receive the verification code. Any ideas of how to get into his account?

ETA Worst case scenario I can email whatsapp that his phone was stolen and deactivate his account but then he won't be able to transfer his stuff over but at least whoever gets his old phone number won't have access to his account.

Did he active his new number on a new cell phone or on his old one?

Same cell different  number .  But it can easily be in and reinstalled . The issue is no way to receive  the verification  code if he signs up again with the  old  number .

I would like to see a feature of ignoring a group. Meaning, whenever a message comes in, it doesn't automatically jump to the top.

The default 3 columns should be Calls, Chats and Groups.

I see no need for "Contacts" to have it's own full tab, as I don't ever use it unless I'm making a new message, and there is a button for composing a message already. Pressing that should bring up the contacts page with a search bar.
