I used WhatsApp on a second phone while traveling abroad. After switching back to my regular phone the messages sent while away don't come over to this device. Any solution?

1. Backup the travel phone
Restore reg phone

2. manually copy over the files from the travel phone to reg phone.

Ha ha! My friend was recently breaking his head off how his 35 GBs of Whatsapp data is backing into Drive and storage doesn't fill up... and I was not able file any info about it online.

A business contact in China with whom I have previously communicated via WhatsApp informed me that WhatsApp is currently blocked in China (she access it via VPN). Is that true also regarding HK? Is WeChat the only alternative?

WhatsApp works fine in HK. And iirc in Shenzhen as well.

My contacts are in Shenzhen. WhatsApp is blocked. Maybe it's only to Chinese phone numbers.

Based on a Google search this is something that occurred sometime in late 2017. A year ago I was communicating via WhatsApp with no problem.

again in regards to Shenzhen IIRC it did work for me, will ask my father who was there a few weeks ago, but definitely worked in HK

it's only to Chinese phone numbers.

It's not supposed to go into effect until November..

Before I updated my WhatsApp there was a small number on the home screen icon showing the amount of messages I have, and it counted the muted chats also. Now it's not showing those messages.
Is there any setting to change back to showing it?

I'm assuming you are using iPhone. If that is the case, go to the app settings and enable badges.

Worst time for this to happen of course..

On vacation in the Maldives and some how my WhatsApp account is broken/restricted

There is nothing wrong with the WiFi (tried multiple and my wife's WhatsApp has no issue) or my phone (used Samsung dual messaging with my Google voice number and no issues) but I cannot send statuses, and when I send messages it takes anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to send. I uninstalled the app, restarted the phone, cleared the cache cleared the ram, cleared all the running apps.

Any fix for this?

I'm having a similar issue. What I do is I force stop the app and reopen it, but it seems you are beyond that.

well beyond that, I've tried that at least 10 times.

4) Mobile Data
5) View app settings

Language may vary by OS. Assuming you have an Android

Many settings there, make sure it's all to what it's supposed to be.

everything is correct. And the fact that I uninstalled and reinstalled, plus I now did dual messenger and my second # works perfectly from the same phone..

And receiving works no issues..

Has to be an account sending limitation somehow no?
