only the one I want to send videos has a phone with whatsapp

Yes it would although it's a pain... BlueStacks is a program that acts like a Android on a desktop (aka allowing you to install WhatsApp and make a WhatsApp account on ur desktop) and then u can send the file.

anything I should know before trying to install on desktop since everybody is saying its a pain

At least what I mean, is if it's for a one time thing, it's not worth it.
That being said, if this is more of a constant need, sure go ahead. T just entails a few steps to get it to work.

Way of preventing spam / abuse?

When google.com takes you to the wrong place, people would abuse that so fast (unless you’re “savvy enough” to look at what every URL is before actually clicking through).

oh the horror i clicked on google and it took me to some horrible copycat (is it Chinese) does anybody know what happened to google...
