I don't get this whole Watsapp thingy. Can someone please explain to me why does everybody go crazy with it? What's wrong with regular texting groups?

there is no privacy online. Either you start paying for al the websites or allow companies to monetize through ads. There is no way to have free sites and n ads.

According to Forbes recent article about snapchat Asia is where whatapp is used most ( besides for Jews) isn't that FBs new strategy to grow in Asia?

I'm still not sure why everyone is getting all upset about this. Facebook makes money the longer people are on it. More time sent on FB browsing = more money for FB. But Fb has a serious problem in that people go on, scan their page and go off. They need a reason to keep people on the site. Now instead of going off of FB to text with friends, you can do it on FB. FB tried doing this with messenger, but it is not as god, plus messenger only works with FB friends while whatsapp works with your phones entire contact list. Which is another added benefit for FB. Getting ahold of your phones contacts is just another piece in the puzzle for FB to add to their profile of you, which it can then use to target adds.
