Hey anyone know of good external hard drives. I'm looking for 2tb and up for decent price...I've seen WD Seagate and fantom g force among others but they all have those horror stories of it crashing... I need something reliable not somehjng that'll crash 1 year later.

They're all gonna crash. Be prepared for that. I found the Buffalo drives the best so far. Keep in mind that sometimes it's the board that goes and the physical drive itself is okay. Got the Buffalo on sale, I think from Staples.

They do fail. You should have a backup. The cloud is best. Icloud gives 5GB free. There are others. I use an external drive for backups but I backup in multiple places so if one fails I have the others. I have an external and the cloud. My external drive failed numerous times, all brands. The last time I got to take it apart and wire it up into my computer and copy it to a new external since only the drives mother board failed.

Unreliable. You know any good cloud services that have an option to backup entire computers?
(Yes I know that requires a lot of storage)

I'm paying, but 5GB is free. I have a 1000GB plan. Half price for schools. (edu)
