Yes.
It's all a myth. Anything that works for Windows will work for Mac. It's just a matter of which file-system its formatted with prepackaged.

True, however some drives aren't preformatted to be Mac compatible and you have to format it yourself. Not everyone knows how to do that. Most new larger drives iirc are formatted in the new exFAT and that's Mac compatible by default.

Hard Drives are seagate so quality is ok. All external hard drives are lower quality than internal drives, and you can't rely on only one location for your data.
