Not disputing that, it would be even better value with smaller a smaller brim. Would probably be easier to manufacture, and last longer.

Could you post a photo of yourself in the "mem's" wearing a big wide tie and tiny brimmed hat (and aviator glasses)?

ALOL.

Don't think I ever wore a tie in the "mem's". Brims were pretty wide back then IIRC (don't forget, there were no digital cameras back then, let alone cell phones with built-in cameras, so I don't have that many pictures from that period. Maybe a couple from כוס של ברכה.)
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

3" Brim is a bad idea. The bigger the brim, the faster the hat will lose its shape, also more sensitive to winds.

They would make smaller brims but NotSoYeshivishHats.com was taken.

Not in the market for one at this point. Just got one during a recent trip to Eretz Yisroel.
You live in Brooklyn and you buy your hats in EY!?!?
Why would you do that??

This could make for an interesting discussion. In which markets do you find hats more aligned with what you would ideally where, NY or EY?

Shopping for clothing and accessories has been a traumatic experience for me since I can remember myself. As such, things are purchased when needed, without spending too much time on it.

I happened to be in EY and my hat needed some TLC. I stopped over at the store in Kfar Chabad (no traffic or parking challenges) asked to have my steamed etc. While I was waiting, I tried on a hat, seemed to fit, so I took it.

gut gezukt!
I personally like really large brims but my wife and mother always tell me they are too large on the bar mitzvah boys.

Thanks everyone for your help.
I ordered one from yeshivish hats and maybe I will also try something else if I think it doesn't look nice enough for Shabbos.
It seems like that British site would be a lot chePer than calling up hat box and having them ship me a hat.

If your in Lakewood and feeling lucky you can check Mr. Price to see if they have anything nice.
I'm not who you think I am.

I got the hat
It looks nice but you can tell it looks different.
I didn't notice what people commented on DDMS about the crown being a bit off ut you can tell the material is a bit different.
The article quoted above said its wool not felt maybe that's what it is.
