Credit Report Mistake
« on: May 19, 2011, 01:49:39 PM »
My Equifax free report (thanks Dan :) ) says i have no employment history. How do i change this if I got a job about 6 months ago? Wouldn't it be beneficial for me to have this on my Credit Report?

It does not impact your credit score.  And lenders really don't use it as a reliable verification of employment either (because most of the time it is inaccurate or not up to date, as you are seeing).

if you want, you can ask the employer to report it to a/the bureau(s).  just like asking a creditor to post your history if they don't normally report (assuming you have a perfect record).

it does help with a mortgage or loans where someone actually reviews the CR, as opposed to the computer just spitting out a score in an automated process...
