Unless EK starts TLV service, it doesn't seem like TLV will see an A380.

To me the main takeaway here: "The new Business-Class cabin will feature two-meter-long lie-flat seats by Recaro in a 1-2-1 configuration; the company is still debating whether this should also be installed in the existing Boeing 777 fleet."

I find it very surprising given the cost of these seats. But who knows

I'm very doubtful about this, but perhaps they can find a way to retrofit newer seats that aren't necessarily of the same caliber.

I guess you know the costs of those seats can  you give me an idea how much they cost? I would think max 6k per seat is that is expensive to retrofit the existing fleets. Considering they can be xfered to the 787s when they are ready to roll.

When AF launched their new dreamliner, they talked about each Zodiac seat in J costing over $60k each - not sure how Recaro compares, but id assume it can't be that far?

At $6K per seat I think you'll have a line that spans around the globe to get them (or not necessarily, as it would be too good to be true).

I've seen all kinds of numbers around but 6k doesn't even scratch the surface.

The only explanation I can think of is that there aren't much manufacturers for airline seats hence giving the companies the opportunity to charge skyrocketing prices.   There is no way to explain even using the fanciest language why a first class seat should cost 300k

Did you watch the video? These things need to be built to take serious abuse, minimize weight, take into account safety issues, etc. etc. and currently demand seems to be outstripping supply, resulting in delayed deliveries!
