I am scheduled to fly on it from LHR to TLV on Oct 24 - and yet as you point out it's also scheduled on the EWR route..

Does that mean they will have received a second one by then or they haven't yet decided when to stop flying to LHR?

Their second aircraft is due to arrive on October 9th.

You're right! Just realized LY28 make it back on time to Israel and then goes on to London

Let's try to explain how scheduling works for some who seem a bit confused.
We have 2 aircrafts:
Aircraft 1:
Departs to Newark Motzei Shabbos and arrives at 5:40am
Departs Newark at 1:30pm and arrives in TLV at 7:10am Monday morning.
It then departs at 10:15am to LHR, and leaves LHR at 3:25pm arriving in TLV about 10:15pm on Monday evening.
It then sets out to EWR again at 12:30am to arrive in EWR Tuesday morning at 5:50am
And so on....

Aircraft 2:
Departs TLV to LHR on Sunday at 10:15am and is back in TLV at 10:15pm so that it can head out to Newark for the Sunday night 12:30am flight, because the aircraft that flew to Newark Motzei Shabbos still hasn't returned and will only be arriving in TLV at 7:10am the following morning.
Then arrives back in TLV early Tuesday morning and does the Tuesday route to London, since the aircraft that did it Monday is now enroute to EWR
And so on.....

Relax. Even this rule has plenty of exceptions. El Al has a plane sitting in EWR every day for 7 ˝ hours (and 42 hrs over the weekend).
IINM, most short haul domestic flights in the US don't operate through the night either.

When i visited the boeing factory in July someone who works closely with Elal on their Dreamliner Strategy said they would start with EWR than a mix between Asia and NYC as they get more planes
LAX wasn't even anywhere near high on the list unfortunately - not even for an interior remodeling. He said the strategy is, unless your due anyways to overhaul the interiors, you use it until it really needs the complete overhaul. Sad..
