I probably should have asked this here, over the EL AL Questions Master thread:

What is the best seat in business class for a couple traveling with an infant on 787-8?
I was thinking 4DG and based on what it says on EL AL seat selection. "easy access and special needs" vs "narrow access"

Lap infant? From my experience front 2 window seats are the best.

Yes, lap infant.

Seat 1A and 2A? Any particular reason?

Why did they remove the overhead mini personal AC vents? It was stifling for the first part of the flight and I was just sitting there hopeless

Instead of making the personal overhead light, literally overhead so that when it's on it lights up basically the whole row, they should have put it near the screen so it functions like the map light that cars used to have. Why should all the people around you be disturbed when you need to read?
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

For those of you who have followed the Boeing saga, is this story a reason to try and avoid El Al? (I don't know what planes the other airlines fly between the US and Israel.)

I don’t think this report has been investigated by the FAA yet, either way, the reported issue affects 10-12 planes. Unlikely the El Al 787 you’ll be flying will be one of them.

That's not a great standard for plane safety. I don't think we need the FAA to investigate to know it's probably true. The number of planes thought to be affected is also problematic because the point is that it seems that the dreamliners were also built not to safety specifications.

A contractor may or may not have taken a shortcut that might or might not be an actual safety issue.

Other Dreamliner issues aside, I don’t think this particular report at this particular juncture moves the needle. Boeing might very well need to clean house, but this is a very small part of that IMHO.

Penny pinching I assume. Pity Boeing makes this an option instead of standard.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.
