An anonymous source (that's the way of reporting these days  ;) ) told me that they will upgrade the food service on the new planes as well. You will be able to order a specific meal from menu etc. Guess they wanna keep up the idea to fly ELAL for their food.

I find it surprising they made no mention of this during their launch events. Isn't that something they would already advertise?

Do you mean in-flight? Because LY has always had the option to order special meals even for Mehadrin (Fish, children, Dairy, etc.)

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to conclude the seats would have be narrower when the 787 is more than a foot narrower than the 777... unless you thought someone would be on the wing...  ;)

I imagine it's not easy for LY on a 787 to have the same seat width, let alone more, than LY on a 777...  If it were, don't you think they would have done it?

There are only two things airline can change to accomplish that: aisle width and/or non-seat seat width.  There must be some rationale (legal, business, or otherwise) that precluded that option.

Can't wait for your upcoming trip report from the new J (make sure it's ex-TLV so you can review the King David too). I think you may actually be pleasantly surprised. It may not be as bad as you think.....

What in the world?
They went with a dense configuration. They could have done reverse herringbone and had a more spacious seat than UA.
Instead they went dense and have a narrow business seat.

What makes you think the seat width would have been increased had LY chosen reverse herringbone?

AC has reverse herringbone on their 787 and the seat width is... 21 inches.
