El Al has been flying 2 daily 787 flights between Newark and Tel Aviv since March 25. This will decrease to 1 daily flight on October 28. That may be added back next year, but so far El Al is selling seats for just one daily flight through the end of scheduling next April.
As mentioned above, for the winter they officially switched the second EWR flight to 3 times weekly (some weeks have more) on a 772. I just noticed that the blocked availability for the second daily flight and is currently marked in the GDS as "subject to government approval".
And sure enough, El Al has cancelled their plans to start the route in November.
As I've said earlier, UA is back on the 788 by the time November comes around. So perhaps it's not the 77W that blew them away (probably just lack of sales)
They say that they will start it in May, but they are not currently selling any seats on the route.

El Al plans to maintain the same old 767s on their Boston and Toronto routes for the foreseeable future.
Most likely waiting for the 787-8 deliveries to replace them (especially YYZ where AC puts them to shame)

Under the new "Fly Your Way" system with branded fares, they are changing a lot to compete with the LCC, but it's nearly impossible for a legacy carrier to fully compete with the "ULCC". One example is the allowance of one-way flights to Europe. And btw, many European airlines have completely cut meals on the TLV routes like LO or SN to name a couple. Last year I flew AB JFK-TLV and on the 5 hr flight from TXL to TLV, I needed to pay 3 EUR for a drink of water.
Aside from massive labor costs, one of El Al’s major problem is that they have failed to cultivate meaningful airline partnerships. That means that while United can feed passengers to their Newark and San Francisco flights from across their network, El Al is nearly entirely reliant on nonstop traffic.

A real shame. But it's coming shortly. If only more airlines would make this a priority. I just flew AC to TLV and they didn't either have wifi installed on the long-haul flight (787)

But you also
should mention the shameful price increases that have been nonstop since they launched the Dreamliner! The base fares on all cabins to the US have skyrocketed in the past few months especially PE. They also just recently increased the changes/refunds fees rates for the first time in many years.
