There is no stopover from Turkey to the US...
TSA runs carry-on screening in AUH.
Funny thing is that upon boarding a flight to the US at TLV one is asked whether they are carrying liquids, but nothing gets verified.
Anyone think their intelligence had vague info about an impending attack like the one in UK today?Worth noting that today is the 1 year anniversary of the Brussels Airport attack which is certainly flying-related.
Was that the one at Westminster Airport?
I know you're being sarcastic, but it's possible they had intelligence that an unspecified terror act was planned in UK for anniversary of Belgium bombing. All this is obviously speculative but I do think there are interesting coincidences worth considering. Also worth noting that if the ban was some scaremongering Trump policy I don't think the UK would have enacted their own ban. There had to be substance behind it.
I'm not quite sure if I think the ban is purely ulterior motives, purely driven by security, or some combination of the two. What I'm pretty confident of is that its execution looks pretty suspect.
I think the execution (especially by the UK) shows that the intelligence made it urgent to enact these rules immediately.
I'm saying that the way the US implemented the ban seems full of holes if it's for security reasons.
