Amex Charging within 60 days from opening

I tried to search if somebody has previously had this issue, so I didn't see anything. I just cancelled my card after 50 days of opening (and after earning on it 150,000 MR points!!! simply). But I saw I was credited only 412.50. I called in and they told me that the 60 days refond is only for cards that weren't used, since this was used I wouldn't get full credit, therefore they reduced one month. I tried arguing and used all DDf tools, but I had no success. Does anyone know, was this all the time, or is it a change of policy?

What! never pay apenny if you don't have to. I just called back the next day and they adjusted it. Didnt refer to the previous conversation just said I see you closed my account but there is a charge that shouldn't be there and she said oh! ok I will adjust that.

BTW how did you get the 150k they gave you an additional 100k instead of 50k?

By a lot of begging I got twice good will points, one in the amount of 25,000, and one in the amount of 20,000. the rest was just spending.

BTW, I did not make this up. I have heard this several times. Most recently, I heard it from R' Yisroel Reisman in one of the motzei shabbos drashos (they are tele-casted all over the globe).

I sent an SM saying how disappointed I am by the customer service since I was told they pro-rated the refund since I have other cards open with Amex
I told them it doesn't make sense because that is making me regret being an amex customer.
They credited me the full $450 right away

Walla!!! DD shed or chinum shed, I just got credited $39 upon this. extra credit $1.50. thru SM. Thanks your advice
