Every new brand of wine coming in to the USA, kedem is there. They saw that Or Hagunoz wine is good going, so they bought off the importing/distribution of the USA, as not to leave any space for a competitor....

That has been going on for decades. But the FTC will not get involved.

At the time I was working for relatives of the owner of Haddar, and occasionally did some work for the owner of Haddar, so I report the story as I heard it back then from the owner.

Hadar tried to get intp grape juice market. Kedem smashed them with Gefen.

Haddar, Gefen, kedem and other companies (can't remember the names now, maybe even glicks) all bills come from the same company, kayco.

I will be surprised if Kedem own a publicly traded company. Pepsico owns Sabra. Knorr is a non-kosher company with some kosher products. I guess I was mistaken on the Haddar and Bauer brands. They truly hated each other. Guess they made up.

no, Pepsico bought out and acquired Sabra. Kayco happens to sell/distribute both Coke and Pepsi. They do not own those companies.

they didn't make up. It was a hostile takeover. On a side note Hadar grape juice ceased to exist for a few years until Welch's made its debut last year. In a brilliant buisness decision, kedem decided not to compete with their own "premium" product but rather brought back out Hadar to compete with Welch's. In the end they lowered the price on the kedem brand also to as low as $2 per 64oz bottle.

Or to put it in other words, given the history, the mere fact that they distribute Haddar indicates that they own it. Under the old ownership I doubt whether they would be distributing products for a company they are in a fight with.

Contrary to popular belief, it is actually not illegal for a supplier to set a minimum selling price as a condition for supplying the store with the product.....

I don't know if they have a specific relationship, but they are big enough (in Israel) to import things on their own, rather than rely on distributors.
