Ecco shoes for wide feet
« on: March 28, 2017, 09:42:17 AM »
My feet are huge (size 13 and on the wide side) and I feel like I've been stuck buying either Rockport or Hush Puppies all my life. Would Ecco shoes have a remote chance of fitting me?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Only such problems ;D. Try being a size 17-21 (depending on brand).

That being said, for the last 5 years I've been buying Ecco that's one or two sizes too small (they don't make 'em any bigger) and they stretch to a perfectly comfortable size in around 2 weeks.

So if you get a size 13 (equivalent) Ecco, you'd likely be uncomfortable for a few weeks and then very comfortable for a long while. Worst case get it somewhere with a good return policy.

Many Eccos run wide.
Try a couple sizes with free returns.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Shoe stores carry an amazing little red bottle that contains liquid shoe stretch. It varies $3-$6. You get the leather wet and wear the shoes for a couple hours. The leather has to dry before you take it off or else it will shrink back. You can even make your own with an alcohol base. Check Google.

Similar issue, try the ones that are boxed by the toes, they tend to run wider.

Just tried on my New Jersey shoes. They're definitely on the rather tight side, but they aren't excruciatingly uncomfortable. Should I keep em till they stretch?

Go with Helsinki. I've tried all the ones that go on sale and always end up with Helsinki slip ons. Those are widest. The nj are definitely narrow. I have 4 pairs of Helsinki under my bed for when my current ones get worn out. They last a year if I'm lucky.

Well, the Helsinkis do fit better, but I got laced ones which I decided to use for Shabbos. Would it be worth it to get a pair of slip-on ones for during the week? They don't go on sale that often.

Helisinki has a wide cut. Jerseys are pretty snug

Seattle is great for wide feet too, very roomy.
