I and 10 isn't what we were discussing...

That's what I was saying should be done if they don't wanted to weigh it. Yes, I do agree overhere (only) that it would be problematic..

Just making sure we have an agreed Asur situation.

Yes. As there is a huge difference between the 2 scenarios. One your proactively stealing. The other one you're doing nothing..

You have a high opinion of my access to him. I have to reach him within the constraints of a shul member. @yfr bachur qualifies as 'family friend of the Rebbetzin.' He has less access, but his access is of a higher quality.
We'll see.

In this particular case, access is not bec of any protektzia. I just happen to have been invited (years ago) to join a matza chabura and discovered in the bakery that it is Rav berkowitz's chabura... He's there for hours watching the oven, so anyone in the chabura can take advantage...

Last sunday i needed  a suitcase and carryon for my Israel trip so i just picked up what costco had available locally.
https://www.costco.com/samsonite-element-xlt-2-piece-hardside-set.product.4000228941.html

Spinners were definitely a huge upgrade over my old wheeled suitcases.

As for weighing them

Ex-EWR they asked to way all carryons with wheels but gave me no problem with slight overage.
Ex-TLV they asked to weigh carryons too, I was almost 4kg over so they asked me to remove stuff.

I really don't get it though as the stuff i removed just went into a bag and still came on board with me anyway.
Is the whole carryon thing just about not having heavy stuff in the overheads in case they open?

Has anyone used the Travelpro Platinum Elite? It seems to be consistently rated online as the best soft-sided carry-on.

I can get it for $277, which makes it more palatable... any thoughts?

I don't know whether there are any particular advantages to the Platinum Elite over the Crew Versapack, but I do know that I recently got the TravelPro Crew Versapack carry on and am super happy with it. I ordered the Crew Versapack and the new Crew Classic and returned the classic, the additional compartments of the versapack make organized packing much easier for me.

The Crew Versapack is very solidly built, has really nice durable smooth zippers, the same PrecisionGlide wheels as the Platinum Elite, the same handle as the Platinum Elite, more packing compartments, and is substantially less costly (currently on a big sale as an added bonus).

I very highly recommend considering it.

I can load this up with 50lb of stuff, throw a backpack and a bunch of other stuff on it, and it still wheels like a dream. I can walk with this for hours, it needs the lightest touch and always goes straight. With my old carry on, my wrist would hurt from fighting with it after 10 minutes. That alone makes it worth the money for me.
I'm just about convinced. It seems like although quite expensive its probably a worthwhile investment. I am always fighting my carryon and its as real pain. Why did you specifically choose this one from all the ones Travelpro has?

Those of you that have hard sided carry-ons don't you miss easily accessible outside pockets?
Who's the most ignored user on the forums?

I only use soft sided cases, but never use those outside pockets anyhow.

I have been using my Delsey Paris hard side carry on for 2 years now and like it a lot. I don't prefer soft sided so I tend not to use my Travel Pro one.
