That's what it is, someone's rent payment.

Edit: So I created a Divvy, it's scheduled for 6/1/2011. When should I expect my card to get charged?

If they ask for you SSN they might be pulling your credit.

When I created mine the first day it allowed me to pick was 6/3 and it said it would charge my card on 5/29, they ended up charging it on 5/26...

I believe they just require your social as they are holding your money and according to some us government policy to prevent money laundering or some crap, i do have an identity monitor subscription and it hasnt alerted me to a credit inquiry...

I wouldn't worry about a pull unless I've seen reports of it elsewhere.

Anyone think this might work for mortgage payments, or will that get me shut down? I'm thinking of paying some people's mortgages by CC (and they cut me a check) until the gravy train stalls.

I don't see why it wouldn't, on the pay bill section it dosent mention rent.. it just asks for the information that should appear on the check and the property information... And in any case, whats the worst that can happen?  they refund the money?

Where would you put the account number etc?

I think it'll work, to be safe you can give it an extra few days.

The concept is that it works exactly like BillPay through your bank... not speaking from experience that it actually works that way, but that's the concept.

Card authorized, and I received two emails: One daying my divvy was successful, the other telling me a payment was made to the recipient.  If a check went out today (albeit from CA) I'll be very happy. I also confirmed, it went through as a purchase.

There's also a PayDivvy competitor called WePay, but I think they already charge a CC fee...

I'm a little lost.. Where does the money go when they charge the cc? Is this like amazon payments?

That's what I'm going to try.  I'm tired of lugging coins to the bank to pay the mortgages I pay.  Well, actually my wife is...   ;)

So got my test payment in the mail today. It was a check with my name in both the to and from field!

Looks like this works :)
