FYI, I just noticed there's officially a $3k limit per day, and a $5k limit per month.

Where does it say that in the terms?  How does paying a mortgage with PayDivvy differ from paying rent?

I think this quote from their terms was posted before:

Quote
10.1 Your Liability. You are responsible for all Reversals, Chargebacks, Claims, fees, fines, penalties and other liability incurred by PayDivvy, a PayDivvy User, or a third party caused by or arising out of your breach of this Agreement, and/or your use of the Services. You agree to reimburse PayDivvy, a User, or a third party for any and all such liability.
10.2 Reimbursement for Your Liability. In the event that you are liable for any amounts owed to PayDivvy, PayDivvy may initiate a transaction via your Default Payment Method or other available payment methods to pay any such amounts. If you do not have sufficient funds available to fulfill such payment, PayDivvy may engage in collection efforts to recover such amounts from you.
10.3 Actions by PayDivvy. If we have reason to believe that you have engaged in any Restricted Activities, we may take various actions to protect PayDivvy, a User, a third party, or you from Reversals, Chargebacks, Claims, fees, fines, penalties and any other liability. The actions we may take include but are not limited to the following:
We may close, suspend, or limit your access to your Account or the Services (such as limiting access to any of your Payment Methods, and/or your ability to Send Money, or remove financial Information);
We may update inaccurate Information you provided us;
We may refuse to provide our Services to you in the future;
PayDivvy may close, suspend, or limit your access to your PayDivvy Account or PayDivvy Services;
PayDivvy may contact your bank or warn other Users, law enforcement, or impacted third parties of your actions;
We may hold your funds for up to 180 days if reasonably needed to protect against the risk of liability;
We may take legal action against you.
PayDivvy, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to terminate this Agreement, access to its website, or access to the Service for any reason and at any time upon notice to you and payment to you of any unrestricted funds held in custody for you.

If you read through the terms they can find reasons to enforce this.

what do you think about using an amex?

I wouldn't. YMMV.

Sorry for sounding dense but where does it indicate that you can't use it to pay a mortgage?  Under the billpay option, when I type in my mortgage holder, it comes up as an option.

I didn't know that, ti's very interesting. I guess you can go for it and use that in your defense if they make an issue of it.

What this all comes down to is whether you can use a credit card with PayDivvy with no fee from PayDivvy or a cash advance fee... that will probably change (I'm guessing a fee from them will come eventually).  There is no doubt that you can use it to pay your bills with a bank account...

The fee will come eventually. The question is whether they're even checking for what they might consider 'abuse' or relying on the daily/monthly limits ($3k/5k respectively).

I just set it up and although it said it couldn't retrieve an ebill, it allowed me to enter the info manually.

It appears that they don't yet support payments directly from bank accounts.

I'm not sure, either way it isn't too hot. It'll work for most spend requirements though.

I guess I'm the guinea pig for the SPG Amex.  I set up a one-time $175 payment to the day care lady.  I charge a lot on the card already and have had the same card for years --- so not sure why this would trigger an FR --- but we'll see.

Interestingly, I tried to set up another identical payment for a later date (since its a recurring charge), but it sticks on the processing page forever and never goes through.

I don't think that'll trigger an F/R. A large charge (e.g. to cover a $1k spend requirement) on a new card is much more likely too...

How risky is it to pay a landlord with the same address?

Technically, you could be living in a 2 family house with him living "upstairs".

that's exactly the case. But I'm afraid if a try to send a check to the same address they'll think it's suspicious

If your test worked then I guess I'll give it a try what's the worst that can happen? I'll have to pay the old fashioned way

Anyone currently having a problem submitting payment to a landlord. Tried on both my PC and MAC and after I click Divy It Up after entering my landlord information is just hangs on locating... this may take a few seconds.
