Anything...

So to sum it up. It seems i did not make the best purchase out there, like i thought i did. But it's ok cuz this was the best i was able to find on a tight budget (under $400). IY"H when i get rich, i will buy a MacBook Pro or a Sony Vaio Z...

I just hope that this will last me a few years, with basic computing.

Like I originally said for web browsing and word processing you'll be fine video editing will not be great.
And by the time you're rich you'll buy a computer for 298 that puts the Vaio to shame ;)

If you need video editing you bought the wrong computer.

+1

For video editing you would do much better with a $600-700 machine that has a 1gb GPU and a Core i5 (Just saw a Lenovo B470 with these specs for $650, HP for $725). No need for a Sony Z (screen would be a bit small for video editing).

You're not comparing Apples to Apples (pun).

Seriously, Dells are much cheaper than Apple, so you can't compare. I'd say the cheapest Dells aren't build too well, but the more expensive Dells (sometimes still cheaper than Apple) are sometimes built well (depending on the model).

What is better than Intel HD Graphics card?

Anything...

It comes with the Intel HD Graphics?

Also $600 is expensive, why not get the 1 in the OP, If u just need it 4 school, this should do the job.

Dells are cheaper, because they are made cheaper. Period.

Intel GPUs aren't too great for video editing, but they're ok for basic use.

The laptop in the OP has an inferior processor and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Most school students get macbooks these days. Buy they are totally different to use comparing to a PC. They are expensive (very!) but some people love it.

I have read reviews on Amazon about this "inferior" processor, and most people seem fine with it - even graphic designers. It could be a little slow, but it does the job.

don't sweat it, you'll be fine with your pentium processor.  i recently switched from an old dell laptop with a pentium processor to a core i-5 and to be honest... it's the same crap, more or less.    now i'm sure if i was doing heavy gaming or whatnot i would see a real difference, but for everyday things it's all the same.

From a hardware perspective the Macs are overpriced and underpowered (of their price), so an overall bad value.

From a software perspective they are cooler, some say they are also easier to use. But anything you can do on a mac, you can do on windows as well, and more. If you're technically adept you can even install OSX (Mac's OS) on (some) non-mac systems.

You can get MS Word for both Windows and Mac.

I would suggest that u go to an Apple store, try out the macbooks, and see if you like it.
