I wish I would have seen this tread when I first started. It explains a lot about this forum. Before someone takes this the wrong way it has nothing to do with being Jewish. The text format of a lot of the posts gave it away but this thread confirms it.

Confirms what?

Some members seem to have that “know-it-all” attitude. You would think they have been doing these deals for a long time. The format of their posts would indicate they are not very old and this thread seems to confirm that.

Age is just an opportunity for experience, but they don't always correlate, you can find lots of people in their 20s who have more experience than many people in their 50s.

Is this coming from a 20 something?  :P

It's logic. Time allows for experiences, some people use their time more wisely compared to other people who waste it all (and aren't savvy in the first place).

I notice that a lot of members here are quick to do experiments/trail and error opportunities. When jumping in to deals/promo's/price mistakes before its even possible for the details to be ironed out, it leaves one with a lot of experience.

I would think it has to with the fact that younger people haven't gotten burnt a lot of times yet and are therefore willing to test all sorts of methods.

See, if that was the (whole) logic it would be flawed because older people were also young once, unless you consider now a more fertile era to gaining experience.

Maybe I'm off with this one,  but I meant to say that I find it specifically on this forum that people are so quick to try things before knowing the outcome.

On other forums it just seems that the younger learn from the older but don't necessarily take many risks with new "shtuck".
If that's true, then the older would be the ones doing the experiments -therefore gaining the experience - and according to my theory they don't experiment too much due to having gotten burnt in the past.

I thank you for clarify that for me. ::) When you get a little older you will find it is proper etiquette to answer someone’s question first. This is another dead give away for a lot of members here.

Another possibility is they do not need to experiment because their experiences gave them a good idea what will work in the future. There are not a lot of drastic changes in this game.

It's also proper etiquette to search (or at least browse the thread you're in) before accusing someone of ignoring a question they already answered.

I am not going to search every time I want to ask a question or browse a thread that is many pages long. If that is not using proper etiquette then I am guilty.

You are guilty as charged:

I hereby pronounce your sentence:

You will have to browse through DDF till the end of your life, without possibility of parole.

- Younger people often have more time @ hand, and would go at greater length testing out things.
Older people tend to get less enthusiastic about things and become more prudent.

If there were lots of good experimenting experiences when the "old" people were young, that experience does not necessarily help for today's "deal market" and also when you get old enough,, you remember the distant past differently.

But we do hold that we should respect elders, whether Jewish or not.

If this is true then I have a project for the 20 somethings. Figure out why the 2/3BM gives different amount of inquires instead of posting the dumb a** response of YMMV. I mean that in a nice way!  ;D
