AMEX platinum vs Delta AMEX
« on: April 25, 2017, 10:50:28 AM »

Sorry.

Newbie question.

I am flying JFK-LAS and need advice to use my Delta Miles or AMEX Platinum points

AMEX has the 50% back bonus, but charges $100 more in fees and no free bags.

Which way should I book?

Points below is for two tickets:

Delta Card using Delta Points

Comfort (W) 90,000 First + 22.40 taxes

Free luggage with Delta AMEX

Amex (50% bonus back)

Premium Economy (W) 107,880 + $128.10 taxes

Luggage $50 extra

Lots of issues with this post...

Firstly, there is no reason to start a new thread when there are at least 4 appropriate threads to post this in. Please use the search feature.

There are no fees or charges with the amex 50% rebate option, unless you don't have the point to cover the whole fare.

Delta has nothing to do with amex, unless you are referring to a Delta credit card from amex, in which case you would get a free bag regardless of how you book.

If you are flying business/first, you may have a free bag or 2 regardless.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

If you are flying business/first, or have the Delta Plat card regardless of which cabin you may have a free bag or 2 regardless.

1. Sorry for making a new thread.
2. In Amex travel it shows taxes and fees for that amount. Maybe when I check out it won't charge it. I didn't get that far.
3. I was under the assumption that the free bag is only if the ticket was purchased using the delta Amex card. Not if I use the Amex points.
4. The ticket is for economy comfort. Not business.
5. I said I'm a newbie. Sorry again
