Lufthansa has a promotion going on now that if you rent from Avis and put your Miles and More number on the contract, instead of just the usual 500 mile bonus you would get, you can earn up to 3,000 miles per rental (500 miles for the first rental, 1,000 miles for the second rental, 1,500 miles for the third, etc). This promotion was originally supposed to go until the end of March; it has since been extended for another few months.
I rented many times from Avis before the end of March. The first few times, each set of miles showed up on my M&M account as two entries per rental: one for the base 500 miles, and another for the bonus miles for that rental.
However, after a few rentals, the miles suddenly stopped posting. Never mind the bonus miles - even the 500 base miles wouldn't post! Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Probably over ten rentals, all viewable on my Avis.com account, with not a single mile to show for any of them.
Now, after the promotion was officially extended in the beginning of April, I rented a few more times. The first rental posted on M&M - but only 500 miles. No bonus, despite that I had already rented many times during the original promotion. The rest of my rentals since then have not, once again, posted a single mile.
Now, some questions:
1) Where are my miles? What am I doing wrong?
2) Who do I contact about this? Avis or Lufthansa?
3) Why did I only get the base 500 miles for the one rental that did post this month, and not the bonus - did the bonus counter reset when the promotion was extended?
