Isn't this bait and switch? They got thousands of applicants to sign up expecting this benefit, and now they are pulling it so soon.

Grounds for class action?
If that was their intent then I would say you have a good case. Problem is "intent" works both ways.  ;)

I can see them allowing these benefits to continue for current cardholders, through their card member year, to avoid any suits.

Most people weren't trying to game the system though....

Point is I paid $450 for a card with theses benefits, either refund me, or allow me to finish the year I paid for, on the term I agreed to.

+1 I don't need to have the extra point in my account before booking with CSR. This was the main reason I picked this card as a keeper over CSR...oh well
If they actually cut out the 50% back. Wouldn't we all have good reason for a refund on the $450/$550 annual fee??

Well, they just sent out thousands of targeted offers for the 150k biz.

Hmmmm good point, but I don't see that working as well as those who actually signed up for the BP

I can't.
You think they will leave it as planned? No refunds either? That would be a damn sure way to lose some business

A heck of a lot less than they are now

They may be more valuable as miles instead of MR...

Of AF
Oh, I thought you were talking about the points, I can see them giving some sort of retention but not refunding everyone's AF who asks, I'd love to be proven wrong though.

Of course. It would most definitely not be labeled as a "AF refund" but maybe a statement credit or points. I can see this becoming a lawsuit though... Time will tell.
