$300 per item, 1K per card per year. So if you have an SPG card and a PRG card you'll only have 2k of total RP coverage, regardless of how many AUs you have on each card.

If you are unsure if an item qualifies for RP, then instead of asking for opinions here (slightly better than asking medical advice on facebook mind you), PUTPAC and ask the RP reps. You don't need to give your name or card info, just say you have an item or you will be buying an item and the store has a crappy return policy and want to make sure if there is a problem you can return it.

Is that $1000 per eligible card (of the primary card holder) or $1000 total per primary card holder, no matter if they have 1 or X eligible cards?

Each card you are a primary on gets the amount listed for RP. If you have 3 different Amex cards and each have X$ for RP then you have 3 times X$ available.

I just put in a claim (for the first time as an Amex customer of 2+ years) for a $400 chain for a necklace (white gold I think). It broke. That's what I told them (it's true).

Right now they want an itemized receipt, but we don't have it. I'm hoping the Jeweler can produce it.

that would fall under Purchase protection, not return protection.

So I just had my first experience with Amex Returns Protection and it was not so pleasant.  I have been an Amex customer for over 10 years and this is the first time I have ever used it.  I just got a denial approximately 5 days after faxing in my receipt for an item that is between $150-200.  They state my item falls into the 'one of a kind' category.  This is not true.  I can call a local store and purchase the same item today, if needed.  What are my options? Can I call and appeal? Can I or should I make another claim for the same item?

You can definitely try to resubmit. I don't see why that can hurt.

There are sites to fax online for free. and they may initially give issues with Hebrew but after some pushback  should sort out.

Is the receipt in Hebrew cuz it was purchased in Israel? If so it's not eligible as per the terms. Giyf.

Do that basically defeats the whole purpose because regular American stores will accept items back.. The problem is with these crazy Israeli people.
What if the item is broken and then it goes under the warranty protection. Will that cover if it was bought in Israel?
