$300 per item, 1K per card per year. So if you have an SPG card and a PRG card you'll only have 2k of total RP coverage, regardless of how many AUs you have on each card.

If you are unsure if an item qualifies for RP, then instead of asking for opinions here (slightly better than asking medical advice on facebook mind you), PUTPAC and ask the RP reps. You don't need to give your name or card info, just say you have an item or you will be buying an item and the store has a crappy return policy and want to make sure if there is a problem you can return it.

Bought something from a seller, and I don't like the item. I want to return it but the seller is charging a fee + return shipping. The seller is someone I know (another Jew). If I file a return with Amex, will Amex zap the money back from the seller (or do anything to them)?

I'm thinking of buying a $700 piece of furniture with a bad return policy. If it's poor quality and I can't get the store to return it, what will Amex do? Give me $300 and call it a day? Will they want me to somehow deliver them back a heavy furniture at their expense?

I called the Amex claims department and the people who answer the phones aren't adjusters so I don't trust much of what they say, but the rep said that if you haven't used your $1000 limit for the year, they *can* pay more than $300 per item. Is this true? She also said returning the item is up to the adjuster.

I assume this is all YMMV, but thanks for the insight.

They won't pay more than 300 per item period. Of they want you to return it they'll pay shipping. Check the terms to make Sure furniture isn't excluded
