$300 per item, 1K per card per year. So if you have an SPG card and a PRG card you'll only have 2k of total RP coverage, regardless of how many AUs you have on each card.

If you are unsure if an item qualifies for RP, then instead of asking for opinions here (slightly better than asking medical advice on facebook mind you), PUTPAC and ask the RP reps. You don't need to give your name or card info, just say you have an item or you will be buying an item and the store has a crappy return policy and want to make sure if there is a problem you can return it.

Wanted to clarify this as i am not sure i understood.

I returned something to a store, but they would only take back the item for a restocking fee. I decided to return the item anyways. Lets assume the item costed $500 and the restocking fee was $100, so i got a refund for $400. Would Amex now refund the additional $100, even though the store took the item back?
Yes. Before submitting the online form, there is a question if you're requesting a full refund or just a restocking fee.

Yes. They cover closeout and outlets as well.
It might actually be easier, you donít have to bring proof that you tried returning to seller

IINM that question is optional. But since they don't ask for proof, you can attempt over the phone, all you have to do is call and confirm that they won't accept your return since it's outside the return window.

Is that optional?  I never tried skipping it, always thought you had to do it.  But also kind of figure that it's explainable by saying I checked up the return policy on that day...
