[Updated With More Changes] Major Changes Are Coming For American Express Benefits! Master Chart Of What’s Being Added And Removed - https://www.dansdeals.com/credit-cards/major-changes-coming-american-express-benefits-master-chart-whats-added-removed/

$300 per item, 1K per card per year. So if you have an SPG card and a PRG card you'll only have 2k of total RP coverage, regardless of how many AUs you have on each card.

If you are unsure if an item qualifies for RP, then instead of asking for opinions here (slightly better than asking medical advice on facebook mind you), PUTPAC and ask the RP reps. You don't need to give your name or card info, just say you have an item or you will be buying an item and the store has a crappy return policy and want to make sure if there is a problem you can return it.

Return Protection:  www.americanexpress.com/return This is for when, in the first 3 months, the original seller won't accept a return, and the product is still in new condition.
Purchase Protection:  www.americanexpress.com/purchase This is for when, in the first 3 months, a purchase is lost, stolen, or broken.
Extended Warranty: www.americanexpress.com/warranty This covers only what the original warranty covers and extends it for up to 1 year.

Amex can approve RP claims even after the card is closed/cancelled, though YMMV.

That's what I was thinking too, but technically, paper towels don't go bad on their own?

But they are consumable

Is it covered by Amex if store gives store credit after 90 days.

Hadn't used return protection in a while, but wow the timelines have improved.

Filed a claim Tuesday night, got approval email just now, and I see the credit on my acccount already. Less than 48 hrs total.

Nice, how much was the claim for?

Gotcha, I think they might have some sort of dollar threshold where approvals are much faster

I've had claims under $50 take weeks and and claims over $100 get approved in less than 24 hours.

Oh that's interesting. That hasn't been my experience.

In all of the years that I've had AmEx cards, I'd only ever seen claims under $50 get approved without a request for receipts and the filled-out claims forms, but then a couple of months, family members had two or three claims approved for $100-$300 within 48 hours of submitting the initial claim information online. That seemed to only be happening that one week, though, because a claim that I submitted a month later for under $150 took longer and required me to submit all of the usual documentation. Who knows what rhyme or reason there is for how it all works. But it definitely has been my experience that claims under $40 generally get approved right away without requiring any further action on my part.

I had for over $100 got approved without any documentation and I had for $10 requesting all the documentation. But usually when it’s less than $100 they are more likely to approve without requesting more documentation.

Trying to upload docs & it keeps saying text does not match… I also noticed when I put in the claim number the two zeros in the beginning of the number keep disappearing when I go to the next field. Any ideas?

I had a couple claims up to ranging from $100 to $180 be auto approved in the last 2 weeks without any documentation request, but now they’re requesting documentation again for something I filed that was $120.

Maybe, but it was also on different cards. So I don’t know.

Anyone in the middle of a claim and finding the automated emails seem to be delayed / slow? Wondering if it’s because of the holiday weekend,

Has anyone successfully filed a claim from Bed Bath & Beyond since they've announced that they're shutting down?

Officially the T & C excludes " going out of business sale items "
