[Updated With More Changes] Major Changes Are Coming For American Express Benefits! Master Chart Of What’s Being Added And Removed - https://www.dansdeals.com/credit-cards/major-changes-coming-american-express-benefits-master-chart-whats-added-removed/

$300 per item, 1K per card per year. So if you have an SPG card and a PRG card you'll only have 2k of total RP coverage, regardless of how many AUs you have on each card.

If you are unsure if an item qualifies for RP, then instead of asking for opinions here (slightly better than asking medical advice on facebook mind you), PUTPAC and ask the RP reps. You don't need to give your name or card info, just say you have an item or you will be buying an item and the store has a crappy return policy and want to make sure if there is a problem you can return it.

or
Return Protection:  www.americanexpress.com/return This is for when, in the first 3 months, the original seller won't accept a return, and the product is still in new condition.
Purchase Protection:  www.americanexpress.com/purchase This is for when, in the first 3 months, a purchase is lost, stolen, or broken.
Extended Warranty: www.americanexpress.com/warranty This covers only what the original warranty covers and extends it for up to 1 year.

Amex can approve RP claims even after the card is closed/cancelled, though YMMV.

I tried doing using return protection and the link I have does not work. Does anyone have a good link for return protection or a good number to call? I have the marriott Amex card.

Maybe login, and then this link? https://global.americanexpress.com/card-benefits/detail/return-protection

Did they stop the return protection on the American express marriott card? I want to file  return protection a claim and I followed the link and a can't file a return protection claim. There was 3 kinds of claims that I could do. 1. Baggage claim 2. Extended warranty  3. Purchase protection.  I really want to file a return protection claim but I don't see that choice. Is it still possible to do a return protection or did they take away that benefit? I brought a lot of clothing for my kids from a company that I never used before and the fit is terrible.  I really don't want these clothing.  I missed the return date.

You can see the list of cards that currently offers return protection here: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/credit-cards/features-benefits/policies/return-protection-terms.html

Based on that link, the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant still offers RP

Got denied for a claim because I submitted it after 90 days, even though the "claim" and "incident" date were within 90 days.

This is a first? Never been a problem in the past.

Maybe I will try appealing it? Historically, as long as the incident/return date are within the 90 days, it's never been a problem.

That's odd, I just had a similar situation and they approved it. I think some of this stuff is luck of the draw in terms of which adjuster you get

Can you do RP on clothing that was tailored? It shows the tailoring on the reciept as well.

I'd say it's a grey area.

Exclusions include:

formal wear (including, but not limited to, bridal wear, gowns, prom dresses, and tuxedos);
one-of-a-kind items (including, but not limited to, antiques, artwork, and furs);

So you might run afoul of those.

Does anyone have recent DPs regarding filing a RP claim on a closed card?

I found this old DP, but I'm wondering if anyone has anything more recent confirming this still works?

Can I file an RP claim on a closed account?

Yes. If you have active Amex accounts in good standing.

Anyone have experience with filing a claim that is more than 25 items in one purchase? It says I have to call them to file, but I dont want to do that, can I just make 2 claims?

Yeah I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to just make a two separate claims. For all they know you made the return attempt on two separate dates

According to the T&C, It needs to be new when purchased “like new” means used. So, I don't believe it's covered. But you can still try.

How far outside the 90 days did you file the claim? I assume your return date / incident date was within the 90 days though.

Woot is selling an item as "Black Box".

Hey, you there! These phones are PRISTINE and have never been in customer hands. They will arrive with a test sticker showing 100% battery life and inside a sleek custom black box, NOT the original retail packaging. They come with a 1 Year Vendor Warranty, but are NOT AppleCare eligible.

I wonder if this would get by with Amex. Never been in customer hands says it is new.

Can you find a place on the listing where it clearly says that condition is new?

In the same vein, some vendors (even with 100% positive buyer feedback) on Amazon and eBay sell electronics products "new" but it states in the description that the item will come in a "white box"...I'm assuming that these are items that came in a combo package, like when you buy a camera and a lens is included, but the lens inside the camera box is in a white box, not the type of retail box that they would sell the same lens in separately. I can see two possible areas where it might not get approved, first of all if they read the description/listing and notice that it says that it comes in a "white box", and second of course if they ask you to submit photos of the packaging as they often do nowadays. I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience claiming this type of purchase via Return Protection?

No. The listing used to say "New" in the title in the past, but they are saying this confused customers so they changed the title to Pristine.

Never touched by customer hands, 100% charge capacity would seem to me to be New.

Probably won't try it.

My experience was, that when the listing clearly said “new” they didn't bother. But if not, they would ask for the listing number and go over the full listing to see if it's considered new.

An underwriter can argue that pristine doesn't mean new. And since it doesn't say new anywhere on the listing it's really questionable.

I filed it a month or two after day 90.
