I filled a claim in May and just received "We are in the process of reviewing your claim".
Is this typical?
What date in May did you file the claim? Or at the very least, was it towards the beginning, middle, or end of the month? And did they contact you afterwards with a PDF form to fill out (probably also asking for a receipt and maybe even photos)?
My last three claims each took 21 days to be approved AFTER I submitted the filled-out PDF form and the receipt and photos. Others have reported it still taking 25-30 days, but someone the other day mentioned that their claims got approved right away, without being requested to fill out a PDF form or submit receipts/photos. So it's really YMMV at this point, but 20-30 days is kind of par-for-the-course right now (it used to be more like seven days, in the golden age before the L.A. fires).
On the other hand, if three or more weeks went by since you filed the claim online and they haven't asked for the PDF form and the receipt, then that's definitely not normal, but it wouldn't be the first time that that's happened, either. Anyhow, if the last communication you got from them was the "We are in the process of reviewing your claim...", then usually approval happens within one to four days after receiving that message, in my experience.
