$300 per item, 1K per card per year. So if you have an SPG card and a PRG card you'll only have 2k of total RP coverage, regardless of how many AUs you have on each card.

If you are unsure if an item qualifies for RP, then instead of asking for opinions here (slightly better than asking medical advice on facebook mind you), PUTPAC and ask the RP reps. You don't need to give your name or card info, just say you have an item or you will be buying an item and the store has a crappy return policy and want to make sure if there is a problem you can return it.

Amex can approve RP claims even after the card is closed/cancelled, though YMMV.

they are in new condition, I got them last week.  I do not like the firmness of them. If I start the claim and then decide that I want to keep them after all while they are deciding if they will approve the claim,  Can I change my mind and decide to keep them?
I believe so. Honestly, when I have questions I call and ask meir have to give your name, just two them your have questions about the policy and program

Anyone else ever do this for a mattress. I'm thinking of using this for two mattresses that I bought. They were 389 each. If they do credit me back the 300 per mattress, will they make me send it back and how would they get them, would they send a truck to pick them up? They are full size mattresses.
Isn't it only up to $300 per item? How would that work?

Lets get some Holiday Return Protection data points. I submitted a claim and receipts on Jan 24. On Feb 14 I got an automated email requesting my receipt - this is just because 12 business days had passed and the claim was still open. What about you guys? For those of you who recently had your claims closed, when did you submit them, mid/ early January?

I filed a claim on 2/4, faxed in the receipt right away. They still took the 12 days and then asked for the receipt again. I sent it again. Another 12 days then they said they wanted a callback for intake questions. Then ANOTHER 12 days. I'm starting to feel like they are seriously stonewalling.

Maybe too many RPs over XMAS?
