If they want the item back when do they inform you?

Had a claim approved on a poor fitting dress for the wife. Credit has already been applied to my account.

the claim letter didn't mention sending the item back. I want to drop if off during my next goodwill run but wanted to be sure they wouldn't ask for it back afterwards.

If I have to pay for shipping to return an item- would I be able to claim the return protection instead of paying it?

RP doesn't work for return shipping charges.

I submitted a claim and got denied. They told me the reason why this claim has been denied is that I can return that merchant to the store even though the store only accept exchange, NOT return. However, in my case, the jeans I purchased was sold out. I can only exchange for other products which I do not need.

Thus, just wanna share with you, if the store can exchange, not return, AMEX will still not accept your return request.

The store might give you credit. Which might still be a decline reason...

I made a rp claim, and I got an email to call, I called and they said they need a receipt, a day later I got an email to call and send receipt, sent receipt and didn't call (as they didn't want anything last time) now I got an email That they are waiting for me to call,
what does this usually mean
It's a $600 product

Call. They just want to know the condition (brand new unused in sure) and why you can't return it to the store. Painless.

I bought $70 headphones in Oct., and called RP now, and (after a very long wait) the rep was very nice, and approved the credit, and I can keep it too. Thanks, Dan!

Is it your first return? I've found for mine and my girlfriend's first RP claim they had us each submit receipts despite it being for less than $100. Since then, any item under $100 hasn't required me to send anything in.

No, not my first return. That's why I knew this seems to be different. It's actually the first time they're asking for an itemized receipt under $100 from me.
So I was wondering if something changed and this will be standard procedure now.
And no, I didn't excessively return

If i get an amex offer to spend at a certain store and i want to do an rp, do i have to deduct that amount that was credited b/c of the offer when filing the rp???
