[Updated With More Changes] Major Changes Are Coming For American Express Benefits! Master Chart Of What’s Being Added And Removed - https://www.dansdeals.com/credit-cards/major-changes-coming-american-express-benefits-master-chart-whats-added-removed/

$300 per item, 1K per card per year. So if you have an SPG card and a PRG card you'll only have 2k of total RP coverage, regardless of how many AUs you have on each card.

If you are unsure if an item qualifies for RP, then instead of asking for opinions here (slightly better than asking medical advice on facebook mind you), PUTPAC and ask the RP reps. You don't need to give your name or card info, just say you have an item or you will be buying an item and the store has a crappy return policy and want to make sure if there is a problem you can return it.

or
Return Protection:  www.americanexpress.com/return This is for when, in the first 3 months, the original seller won't accept a return, and the product is still in new condition.
Purchase Protection:  www.americanexpress.com/purchase This is for when, in the first 3 months, a purchase is lost, stolen, or broken.
Extended Warranty: www.americanexpress.com/warranty This covers only what the original warranty covers and extends it for up to 1 year.

Amex can approve RP claims even after the card is closed/cancelled, though YMMV.

Has anyone ever heard of someone getting banned/shutdown by Amex for doing too much RP?
I've never heard of someone getting shutdown for this. Do you have a DP?

Did you ever try the radar detector?

Yes, drones and smart watches work.

It’s the same as most items that are grey area these days. It really depends on the agent. I’ve seen it covered and also denied both with multiple instances in either direction. Up to you whethe to claim and how you word initial claim versus how detailed the agent digs in to it.

Right, I recently had new motorcycle Brake Lights covered. I thought they would be denied. In the past I had a buggy attachment for a hover board denied because it was used with a motorized vehicle. Same buggy attachment was covered from a different order, and the hoverboards themselves were covered.

I got a claim for a dash cam approved years ago, but they denied a claim for a portable OBD2 Scanner (for reading the "check engine" light codes). Seemed kind of backwards to me, because in order to do any good, the dash cam needs to be attached to the car with double-sided tape for an extended period of time, whereas the code-reading unit is handheld and only needs to be plugged in for a minute. Anyhow, I think all of these (and especially the brake lights!) are good examples proving the truth behind what the earlier poster said about vehicle-related items being in a grey area that's basically up to the subjective interpretation of whatever claims adjuster gets assigned to a particular claim.

A bit harsh, eh?

Given that you quoted @chff, he was likely responding to chff (and didn't realize chff's post was from years ago)

Did anyone try a RP claim for;

Drones
Smartwatch
Radar detector
?

Did you ever try the radar detector?

Yes, drones and smart watches work.

When you hit the 'back' button, you should be able to add additional items...

Will using extended warranty coverage create a gooseneck of a Dell credit?

Not sure what you mean by gooseneck, are you asking if it would cause some sort of clawback of the Dell credit? If so, I was wondering the same thing for a RP claim. If I had to guess I would say it shouldn't cause a clawback...but I have no personal experience.

But I had issues the other way around. The RP rep made me issues asking what the Dell credit is and they claimed that I received a refund from Dell already. Needed to go back-and-forth to prove them otherwise. In 1 case they declined it, because it wasn't a monetary loss after the Dell credit.

For the case where they approved the RP. Did it cause any clawback issues for your Dell credit?
