$300 per item, 1K per card per year. So if you have an SPG card and a PRG card you'll only have 2k of total RP coverage, regardless of how many AUs you have on each card.

If you are unsure if an item qualifies for RP, then instead of asking for opinions here (slightly better than asking medical advice on facebook mind you), PUTPAC and ask the RP reps. You don't need to give your name or card info, just say you have an item or you will be buying an item and the store has a crappy return policy and want to make sure if there is a problem you can return it.

How do you keep track if you make mixed purchases at any store - how do they know (or how do you know) if its part of the order?

You file the claim, and you tell them.

Return protection is not for broken items.

The purchase protection is for broken items

Will damage protection work on a purchase from a cancelled platinum card, I have other amex cards

$80 pair of jeans on an SPG, Amex did not make me return the item or send in any supporting docs, claim was approved in 12 hours.

I filed a claim with Amex, but it was denied bec it was after 3 months of the purchase date. (i dont recall if they said 3 or 6 months after purchase date) either way, it was denied. I have the glasses case with the Nordstrom return sticker (if that helps..?)

Just claimed for 3 paid of shoes, worth just over $100 each, they want them all back.

In others experience, is there a difference between claiming over the phone and online?

I bought a Dell laptop 4 yrs and 11 months ago for $1400 it broke I originally bought a 4 year warranty but since this was the 5th year it was covered under their extra warranty protection they refunded the entire amount.

But I had to send back to laptop

Not a bad deal at all!

My theory is that for cheap items, they don't make you send back, but for more expensive items they do. Not sure the cutoff.

Possibly, but I wouldn't want to "waste" it on little things. I'd rather use it for a big ticket item..
