$300 per item, 1K per card per year. So if you have an SPG card and a PRG card you'll only have 2k of total RP coverage, regardless of how many AUs you have on each card.

If you are unsure if an item qualifies for RP, then instead of asking for opinions here (slightly better than asking medical advice on facebook mind you), PUTPAC and ask the RP reps. You don't need to give your name or card info, just say you have an item or you will be buying an item and the store has a crappy return policy and want to make sure if there is a problem you can return it.

Amex can approve RP claims even after the card is closed/cancelled, though YMMV.

my wife bought outfit from BCBG final sale with SPG. I tried getting refund from AMEX and they just sent me letter that we had ten days to return to merchant.... what does that mean????

Sounds like AMEX thinks that the merchant would let you return it for 10 days (they don't realize that it was final sale). Try calling up to explain that the product was final sale and they don't give you 10 days

Generally depends how much they cost. Under $100 they probably will not make you send back.

Bought a LeSportSac backpack for $63 on spg consumer card. It was final sale no returns. I Called up yesterday that I don't like it and I want to return it but the store won't take it back. They said I will get a email with the results. I just got the email it said that I will get a credit .they did not ask to return the item

looks like you disputed the charge, not the return protection benefit.

Return protection has nothing to do with the retailer (other than possibly a phone call asking them to take it back). Amex takes the loss, not the retailer

The store is not the one taking the loss here, Amex is.
Your not disputing anything just filing a insurance claim (with Amex being the insurer).
So I don't think you'll have a problem with the store (they'll probably never even know about it).

Thanks! I never knew that, because the one time I used it I got a call from the merchant screaming at me that I ruined his credit with Amex, and I'm a stealer etc. Therefore I thought it has to do with the merchant.
