$300 per item, 1K per card per year. So if you have an SPG card and a PRG card you'll only have 2k of total RP coverage, regardless of how many AUs you have on each card.

If you are unsure if an item qualifies for RP, then instead of asking for opinions here (slightly better than asking medical advice on facebook mind you), PUTPAC and ask the RP reps. You don't need to give your name or card info, just say you have an item or you will be buying an item and the store has a crappy return policy and want to make sure if there is a problem you can return it.

It would. According to T&Cs item has to be in "new or like new condition" for RP, but I guess in this case they opted for a Don't Ask Don't Tell policy.

Did u try to return it to amazon first? Doesnt amex know that amazon has a great return policy?
They have a great return policy up to 30 days. Amex has a 90 day return policy.

Exactly. I ordered the parts as soon as my guy told me what I needed, but he didn't have time to install it until after the 30 days was up.  He didn't end up needing one part.

It means Tuxedos, Wedding Gowns, very fancy.
I have used it in the past for a $300 dress/Gown from BCBG, (who has the worst return policy btw) and have not had an issue, although I did have to send it back.

what happens to the item that's worth more than $300 but only got refunded $300, would they ask for the item back? It would seem unfair since they only refunded portion of it and I paid the extra. How would a situation like that be handled?

They would in most cases still ask for the item back. Not fair? They are doing you the courtesy.

+1, the dress i returned came out to $314 with tax. had to $5 to ship it. I only got back $300. Was still very happy they took it back. I bought the dress knowing this would prob happen.

I wanted to return it but it was too late because it took me 2 months to find someone bringing it from the states to Israel. I told the situation to Amex and they told me they'll open up a dispute for me (which they did.) I wasn't aware of the difference between return claims, disputes, etc... Should I have them change the 'case file' or leave as is?

I would close the dispute and file for RP 'cuz a) Why should 6pm lose $ because you didn't like the quality? b) RP will probably be resolved quicker than a dispute.
