seems the same as any microfilm shaver, i.e. depends on the sharpness if hte microfilm, without that head it's just a trimmer.

doesn't mention lift and cut at all. as an aside, if you plan to remove the lift and cut from a shaver, don't spend that much.

from this thread it pretty much seems to be that the braun series 7 is best out there. was just wondering if anyone had experience with the philips 9700 or 9300? its gotten some very good reviews.

also, does it make a difference in foil vs rotary?

looking for the closest and fastest shave (to be used daily)

Rabbi Forscheimer of Lakewood told me that he never saw a Braun series 790 cc that had a problem and I don't even have to bring it to someone to be checked. I don't know if the 740 is the same but you can call him.

That's only a lift and cut issue.  The problem with Braun shavers has always been that the foil is sharp enough to cut on its own,  so you have a razor like cutting as opposed to מספרים כעין תער.

Yes, though he does check each and every one that is brought to him.

just for the record, R' Dovid Feinstein and R' Belsky both assur braun type of shavers. R' forcheimer holds you  have to check it, and he was matir the bruan 760 shaver.
