What about 770?  ;) :P

If it dies, you never know what it'll happen to it  ;)

I got this great Arc4 for about $80 2+ years ago (special lightning deal i think), still does a good job (though it fully charges in an hour, the chare only lasts like 4/5 shaves, very different than norelco experience). right now there is a $25 coupon to bring it to $90 http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-ES8243A-Electric-Shaver-Nanotech/dp/B001DKMY9Q/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1404449338&sr=8-2&keywords=arc4

i used to have this http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-ES8103S-Electric-Shaver-Nanotech/dp/B001DNE3KQ/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1404449338&sr=8-10&keywords=arc4 (still do but dont use it) and its still $90, so the above is a pretty good deal, definitely does a better job with an extra head to catch longer hairs.

for these types of shavers, the screen itself does not cut, so no issue there, but because its a microscreen (really really thin) if you were to push the screen too close to the skin it catches pockets of skin and thus causes burns (and red skin) and perhaps may be seen as infringing on the issur as the blade would directly touch the skin as it cuts off the hair, similar to a razor as opposed to a scissor.
thus to make it "kosher" u need to be careful not to push hard, if u use lectric shave on your face before and dont push hard and just let the shaver glide over your face, you will still get a close shave, and with no red face (the bumpy middle neck on the other hand is another matter, but not a halachic issue).

Thanks for the long response and the suggestions. It seems that you're saying, in essence, that you get what you pay for. I don't think I am going to throw around that much money on a shaver; but, at least now I know the top of line and can look out for a sale. Halachikally, these shouldn't be a problem for me--I spoke to my LOR and he is more lenient in shaving matters than others.

Btw, it seems like you have a nice collection  :)

Thanks again and have a good shabbos.

Just to add my two cents:
I own and have used both top of the line models from Braun and Panasonic. The Braun works way better for me. It's possible the opposite would be true for you, but you should know that the two brands are quite different despite the similar(ish) looks and mechanisms.
IMO it is worth every penny to get a top of the line model, but only if that brand works for you.
Perhaps you can test each one before purchasing...
Best of luck.

Thanks, but I don't know of a store that allows one to test shavers before purchasing it  ;)

I assumed that; I was just joking around. I don't allow people to use my shavers or like borrowing as it's a very ease to get acne etc...

I'm looking for a good shaver, that is "kosher" or able to become kosher.
I have no idea what the current poskim say about this. can anyone recommend something?

R' Dovid Feinstein holds the only ones that are kosher are lift'n'cut with the lifters removed (a very simple thing to do) of course they can all be kashered but that's not as easy and you need to be a mumcheh to know if it's kosher and it's easier to ruin that way
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Got a 9000 series value pack for 150 (50% off, pretty good for such a recent item) on Amazon. More expensive now but I would keep checking or set a price alert.
Made it kosher so of course u won't get the close shave as advertised. Never shaved so fast!
