At that price range your not going to get anything fancy, your probably going to get one that does random patterns and stops when it hits something (as apposed to having a sensor). iRobot makes the best carpet cleaning ones. As for an exact model perhaps look at consumer reports?

After a ton of reserch I found this one which is $349

Does anyone have any info about it?
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

What kind of info are you looking for on a not yet released item? Order with coupon and return later if doesn’t work for you..

I just pulled the trigger on this one, https://www.bestbuy.com/site/ecovacs-robotics-deebot-ozmo-t8-robot-vacumm-mop-with-auto-empty-station-grey/6423195.p?skuId=6423195

After $25 back with amex, it's only $25 more then I wanted to spend and it's on an incredible sale.

Can anyone recommend a good smart lock solution that is compatible with Shabbos?

I am looking for something that I can use to remotely let someone in the house when I am not home. I do not need any other features (I think).

Is that even possible? I would image that any smart lock will update it's status to the cloud, so even when manually opened it may be an issue..

I doubt anyone here uses Home Assistant but just in case the issur melacha in effect sensor is a potential game changer for the ultimate Jewish smart home.

To answer my question, it seems the best bet is to integrate a smart doorbell with an electric striker to buzz people in and for Shabbos simply unlock the doorknob, and use the combination lock to keep the door locked.

the wyze lock is very decent (the cloud trigger may or may not be an issue. Ask rabbi) but can simply plug the extender it connects to into a smart switch that shuts off every shabbos.....

Just looked into it quickly. So you can have a combination lock on the other end but have this unlock the door automatically. And for Shabbos this part would be off, so would just be a regular combination lock.

I would need it to allow someone in. Is there any way to do that without them having the app? Is there any way for them to ring a bell that notifies me on the app and I could hit approve to let them in?

A couple of things:
- You could get the keypad and use that to assign codes - you can simply add a temp code for people who want to use it
- It would seem that you can open the door remotely from the app (google it)
- You'd probably have to buy another bell that would notify you

As for shabbos operation - AYLOR - the app seems to have a history of opening and closing, which likely logs on shabbos unless you remove the battteries in the device. (Unplugging the gateway will likely prevent these from being recorded, but any time the lock is opened, the hardware behind the scenes is logging it).

Thanks! Would this fit onto the back of a combination lock?

The doorbell would give an alert and you'd unlock it remotely, assuming you'd get a remotely accessible electric striker.

Anyone use a simplisafe alarm system fro your home ? What do you do about Shabbos?

Unplugging the base isn’t enough because it has a back up battery.

I’m not hooked on simplisafe just need something wireless and reasonably priced that can connect to central alarm so any other system suggestions are welcome.
