They make smart switches?

Two separate questions…

Any recommendations of smart switches?

What’s the pros & cons of ring or blink?

I used generic brand/chinese ones sold on amazon. Almost all of these can use any of the smart home apps available making functionality relatively the same.

I’m sure this has been asked but can someone give a full breakdown what needs to be done to the eccobee 3 with sensors for shabbos?
Which settings need to be changed?
What needs to be taped?
Do the sensors need to be covered/hidden?

Dan has a pretty good breakdown here. Should cover what you're asking, and then some.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

Doing a full home remodeling, and looking to do outdoor cameras, bell, buzzer, intercoms, and smart light switches is it worth putting in a Brilliant system, or just go old fashioned way with low voltage guy wiring intercom cameras etc.
Is there any Shabbos issues with brilliant?

Are you referring to https://www.brilliant.tech/pages/smart-home-control ? no shabbos issue with that, shabbos issues are with motion and presence sensors common in thermostats lights and cameras, so it depends what you plan on using.

Would like to install Smart switches and outlets in my house
Main use would be for shabbos timers and set some hallway lights dimmable for night lamps
What system or company works best, looking for sleek look not to many buttons etc.

Gotta take a look at what's out there to see what you like, are you going for wifi based? Or perhaps ZigBee or zwave?

It’s been a few years since I last looked into this but I’m in the market again. Back then Ecobee 3 was the best because it had room sensors and could be totally disabled for Shabbos while still showing the temp and clock on the screen. Is that still the best? I realize now that by disabling everything, I don’t even use the smart features, so all I need is mobile access, room sensors, displaying temp on Shabbos. The only thing I don’t like about Ecobee 3 is that to manually change temp you have to drag the circle and it’s annoying to get exact temp you want, a press option would be much easier. So what’s best for my needs? Here are the current PSEG deals: https://marketplace.pseg.com/smart-thermostats/?utm_source=salesforce&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Earth+Day+RT&utm_term=All+Subscribers&utm_content=https%3a%2f%2fmarketplace.pseg.com%2fsmart-thermostats%2f

Do I have to disable motion detection on my Wyze camera for Shabbos?

If so, is there a way to set a schedule based on Zmanim, or you have to just set it to turn off for the earliest Shabbos can start and the latest Shabbos can end?

You can have ifttt query your Google calendar for words like candle lighting and havdala
Catching up, @TribeTechReview has a great system for wyze using ifttt. I've been using it for a very long time. Check his site

I have an ecobee with sensors and I just turn the sensors around so they can't detect movement
There are some thermostats that have motion / proximity sensors on the main piece as well. Either way point still stands, I don't know of any good solution that allows you to use the smart features on a schedule or the like.
I’m sure this has been asked but can someone give a full breakdown what needs to be done to the eccobee 3 with sensors for shabbos?

What needs to be taped?

Its still the best.
Ecobee can be set to do all this automatically and very little needs to be done weekly manually, if anything. Check on@TribeTechReview site.
Hrs been very helpful to me in setting up my home, not disabling the smart features, and not having shabbos issues.
For switches I use mainly zooz. They're ok. Not perfect

Is there way to get a Nest Hub or Echo Show to always remain on in camera mode? My Hub turns to screensaver after 24 hours. I want to be a 24/7 baby monitor

What’s the deal with doorbells these days? Do they have settings now to turn everything off for shabbos or do you still need a shutoff switch to do that? If they do have settings, can you schedule them to go off every shabbos or do you need to manually go into the app every week?

New home with 10 heating zones
What would be best for smart thermostat without shabbos issues and being able to easily control them together.

Im bringing up the smart lock/shabbos options. I once read about using the august system with the Shabbos lock on the other side. Is this an option? Are there other issues with 'memorizing' when the door opens and closes?
