It definitely does not solve all the problems in the world. For those who view that way it may get worse since the HT collectors may now post even more aggressively.

One of the issues which this does not resolve is that the good Amazon deals are still diluted by all the "I have no idea if anyone has any interest in this product or if there are much better prices on the exact same item with a different ASIN but maybe it will help someone out there so I will post it"

The only way to solve that is by liking good deals and leaving comments when it's a bad deal, or find a plugin that allows dislikes for just one board on smf.

Why does it need to be for just one board? Unless you are dealing with dislikes to the member not the thread.

The reason dislikes went away fwir was because it was being abused as a bully tactic between members. So just having it on the deal board would help solve the issue. Or if dislikes don't take away likes, but rather just shows on that specific thread which would be an even better solution.
