JFK - > TLV - Take a Shower?
« on: May 08, 2017, 10:38:12 AM »
I am traveling on Elal Economy from JFK to TLV roundrip.
How can I take a shower ?
JFK-> TLV: in JFK at departure or in TLV at arrival?
TLV -> JFK: in TLV at departure or in JFK at arrival? I am arriving around 6am and I'd like to take a shower before going straight to office.

I have Amex Plat.
I am willing to pay to access a Lounge. I see that the King David Lounge has a shower but not sure if I can pay to access it.

Thanks,

MR

The only showers in TLV are in  the King David and I do not believe you can pay to enter.

In JFK, you should be able to buy the cheapest DL one-way flight possible, and use your Amex Plat to access the Skyclub that I believe has showers.

You can use Matrix to find the cheapest destination and use routing code DL.

I wasn't even thinking about refund, but yeah, I don't see why that wouldn't work.

Let's say that I reserve a JFK->WAS that leaves from Terminal 2.
Would I still be able to get in Delta Sky Club located at Terminal 4 ? Also, do you confirm that I can get access to the lounge with a coach ticket and an Amex Plat?

I believe that Delta allows you to use Sky Club in either terminal but have never done it personally. And yes, Plat works with Delta econ.

Thanks. I am going to start a new thread about this Terminal question just to be sure.
Also, can I refund a DL ticket if purchased within 24h when the departure is same day?

Not with delta. Try with priceline and see.

You can also book a fully refundable fair, just verify no cancelation fees on it before you buy.

Get a refundable from any airline in Terminal 1 and use PP for KAL or AF depending on the timing.

Why Terminal 1? Elal is at T4

Because that is where the PP lounges with showers are.

Yes But i'd have to go thru security again...
I think the DL option is the best. I'll buy a fully refundable delta flight that leaves from T4 and I'll access the T4 Sky Club which has showers ;-)
To add, I can also buy fully refundable business class to get fast access when going through security.

Note that you'll still need to clear tsa again after customs. Though having a delta flight ensures you can get Precheck if you're enrolled.

N00b question. Any reason this cant be used whenever to gain lounge access? Buy refundable, check-in online access lounge, cancel.

Airlines are cracking down on this, generally not a good idea unless you need to.

Why make things more complicated than they have to be?
Buy a "fully refundable" fare from JFK to to LAX on Delta (these flights depart from T4) and then cancel after entering the skyclub. Purchase on Delta.com
Be sure to gain entry to the secured area using your El Al boarding pass.
