If you made it to the end of the video you'll know that they were hacked, presumably by the Russians, in 2007. And that since then they've gone security crazy. They're messing with blockchain for that as well.

I might be able to understand even if I don't agree. But the thing that boggles my mind the most is just, why in the world are they making brochos and "lighting candles"? That's the part when I know that nothing there was thought through and they lose everything they stand for.

What's the question? They stand for a cultural Judaism. Despite that making no sense to us, it ties together all their actions.

It's because their Judaism is a mile wide and an inch deep. No depth to even understand that they are doing something almost offensive.
